It’s important that we all do what we can to save the environment, and we’re committed to playing our part.
Did you know that some types of inhalers are bad for the planet? Research has shown that the most commonly used inhaler (preventer inhaler) has a carbon footprint equal to a 175-mile car journey. That takes our total as a practice to around 267,225 miles a year – that’s all the way to Australia and back over 14 times!
We’re looking at ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and create a safer, greener planet for us all to enjoy.
It’s time to make a change! We’re starting to switch preventer inhalers to dry powder inhalers.
Dry powder inhalers are more eco-friendly and work just as well as your usual preventer inhaler. Making the switch to a dry powder inhaler means that together we can reduce our inhaler carbon footprint by over 97%!
There’s no need to do anything, our friendly team will make the change for you. We’ll also be in touch when this happens.
If you have any concerns or worries about switching your inhaler, or need a demonstration on how to use your new inhaler, your community pharmacist will be able to help. You can also get advice on changing medicines here.
