Winter is fast approaching. While that means digging out our favourite jumpers and getting cosy at home, it’s important we don’t forget about the illnesses that become more common in winter – the main one being flu!
Although flu will often get better on its own, it can make some people seriously ill. One of the best ways to fight flu is by getting your free flu vaccine if you are advised to. *
The flu vaccine is proven to be safe and effective, and is there to help protect you from flu and it’s complications.
Flu isn’t fun, but getting your vaccine can be! We’re hosting two Family Flu Fun Days to make sure you’re covered this flu season:
- Wednesday 23rd October. 12pm – 4pm. Denmark Road Sports Centre, 120 Denmark Road, Manchester, M15 6FG
- Thursday 24th October. 10am – 12:30pm / 1:30pm – 4:30pm. 422 Community Hub, 422 Stockport Road, Longsight, M12 4EX
Join us to get your free flu vaccination, and to enjoy a spot of face painting, balloon animals, children’s activities and more!
We always want to make sure you get the support you need. That’s why we’ve invited specialist staff members and partner agencies to the event, so you can get help with other health issues you’re struggling with.
You can either drop in at the family flu fun day anytime or if you’d prefer to book an appointment, please get in touch with the reception team.
Help to keep your family happy and healthy this winter by getting your regular flu vaccination. Children under the age of 18 will be offered the choice of a nasal spray flu vaccine or an injectable flu vaccine.
*To be eligible for a free flu vaccine, you must be either aged 65+ (including those who are turning 65 by 31/03/2025), aged from 6 months – 64 and in a clinical risk group, pregnant, or if you live with someone who is immunocompromised. Children aged between 2 – 3 (date of birth between 01/09/2020 and 31/08/2022) are also eligible for a free flu vaccine. If you would like to check if you are eligible for the flu vaccine, please contact your GP practice.
